Armando Sorbini founded the printing company in 1918. With a group of fellow typographers from the historic “Tipografia Agnesotti”, he decided to follow his dream and strike out on his own. The “Tipografia Unione” was born.
His son, Sauro Sorbini, continued in his footsteps. Union Printing is the child of that experience: it had its start in 1974 when Ferrera and Oliviero Sorbini, children of Sauro and grandchildren of founder, Armando, and Roberto Pepponi, animated with the same passion and the same work ethic that characterized the birth of the Tipografia Unione, invest their youthful energy in a completely new enterprise, the first of its kind in Central Italy; Phototypesetting replaces the old movable letters and plates are etched with photographic images..

On March 19, 1974 the lithographic printing press rolled for the first time, a Nebbiolo, from the most prestigious firm in the history of Italian printing. This marked the beginning of Union Printing S.p.A. The exhibit of older printing presses in the museum area of our plant in Viterbo attests to the origins of our mission, off our vision and of our company valuestoday. It symbolizes the meeting point between traditional typography, with lead or wooden movable characters and the reality of modern printing processes, projected  into a future of innovation and change but always respectful of the history of this fascinating profession.
